Nigel Parry

Move More Adult Programme Officer

Role within Jersey Sport: Nigel’s role as Adult Programme Officer will oversee the Move More Jersey intervention programme which aims to increase the activity levels of adults with long term conditions, sedentary behaviour patterns and who are otherwise disengaged with physical activity.

Previous employment before Jersey Sport: Nigel possesses a wide range of operational orientated career experience, gained during 26 years of retail management in the UK. Nigel’s passion for customer service is evident from the number of successful store openings managed during his time as an area and store manager. On arriving in Jersey in 2013, Nigel spent some time working with the Government of Jersey Back to Work scheme at Social Security.

High level / sports related qualifications: Throughout his life, Nigel has coached various sports – teaching juniors as a FA Level 1 football coach, a cricket coach, and currently leads a squad for the Jersey Reds Minis and Juniors as a RFU Level 2 qualified rugby coach.

Hobbies: Nigel is passionate about all things sport, particularly enjoying football, rugby and cricket. Having narrowly missed out on taking part in the London 2012 Olympics as a volunteer, Nigel joined the Waitrose Island Games team in 2015 as a Football Liaison Officer, as well as helping to deliver the Ambassador Customer Service training to the team of GamesMakers. Nigel is a keen and regular runner, combining his love of the outdoors and drive to help others by regularly volunteering as part of the core team helping to put on our weekly local Jersey 5k parkrun event at Les Quennevais.
